The first step to becoming involved with NEO as a participant or volunteer is to join us. It’s free, fast, and easy! Our Meetup.com member pages give you all the details on NEO events including our weekly activities, trips, volunteer opportunities, and more.
We can't do it without you
Great volunteers are essential to all the good work NEO does. Volunteer opportunities include helping with regular events and activities, teaching various outdoor skills, assisting with fundraising, grant writing, marketing, writing articles and web content, and more.
Whether you enjoy teaching kids how to fish, assisting with school field trips, taking a group kayaking, writing newsletters, or planning and organizing activities, we have a rewarding volunteer opportunity for you. We allow volunteers of all ages, and we'll even sign off on community service hours for those who need it. We offer year-round outdoor family-friendly events and activities to thousands of community members each year. Because we believe everyone should be able to enjoy nature and the great outdoors regardless of socio-economic challenges, all NEO events are free or low-cost.​​

"NEO for Hire" Special Events
Help NEO serve more schools and others by booking your next event with us! Funds from these events help to keep our programs available at little or no cost to the people who need them most. Your generous support helps us deliver outdoor educational and family-friendly programs to thousands of Texans each year!
​All NEO events include an experienced NEO facilitator to help keep the fun going! Events may last from 2 hours to several days. We can host activities in local and state parks, your backyard, business, banquet hall, or other venue. We can even plan and host out-of-state trips. Whatever the location or occasion, NEO will give you a uniquely entertaining experience!
